In August 2015, we traveled to Pontotoc, Mississippi for Missionary Orientation Training (MOT) with Global Outreach International. With a certainty of our calling, confirmation from the Lord & mentors and a plan for ministry – we realized Global Outreach would be our conduit to see our ministry plans fulfilled.
Little did we realize at that beginning of the training, but Global became more than a conduit. In our training, we learned tools that encouraged us in our mission and stretched our comfort zone in order to be truly equipped. We trained with others who sought to serve God through a vast array of ministry opportunities all over the world – but at the heart level – we found great new friends. At the end of the week, we had found a family! We were commissioned to head out on our journey – but we were not going alone. We now had an entire support team that committed to help us with logistics, pray for us and where a door is always open for us to spend time with our GO family.
In September, we began the fundraising segment of our journey. Most people dread this part of becoming a missionary. We LOVE it! The money is important but gaining partners is even more important and having to meet with people to share the Kijani Farm vision and seeing the light click in their eyes… that is the icing on the cake! We thank God for Global Outreach and are so blessed to have them backing us up!
